Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)

BJJ is an incredibly fun sport, a dynamic workout, and self-defense all rolled into one. BJJ focuses on grappling & especially ground fighting, & enables a smaller, weaker person to successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger assailant by using proper technique and leverage.

In classes, you will be taught a step-by-step breakdown of specific moves and submissions.

A typical adult Jiu-Jitsu class consists of:

  • A dynamic warm up
  • An emphasis on instruction and a safe live enviroment
  • An opportunity to spar or 'free roll' (to apply what you learned)

Whether you're brand new to martial arts or an experienced practitioner, our BJJ program will challenge you physically and mentally while building practical self-defense skills and an incredible community.

KB Fundamentals

KB Fundamentals is an empowering workout that engages your entire body to lose fat, tone, strengthen, and improve flexibility. This class combines technical instruction with cardio drills and core exercises.

Advanced KB

Advanced KB takes the fundamentals you learned in fundamentals and puts them into action! In this class we focus on real life application, and practice with full contact sparring, mitt work, partner drills, technical sparring, & bag work.

Advanced Skills Include:

  • Offensive & defensive elements of MMA
  • Live sparring work
  • Takedowns and combinations
  • Clinchwork

Wrestling

Whether you're looking for an intense workout, a State Wrestling Championship, or a winning MMA record, our wrestling and No-Gi BJJ will get you there.

BVMMA's widely renowned submission wrestling program is great for the experienced wrestler but still accessible for beginners.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) combines many martial arts to teach you the most effective aspects of Muay Thai kickboxing, boxing, and traditional MK Karate, while respecting the unique threats of wrestling and Judo. This style provides beginners with a state-of-the-art, adaptive approach to fighting.

Training Methods Include:

  • Mitt work and partner drills
  • Sparring and wall/cage work
  • Ground and pound techniques
  • Striking with takedowns

This class will expand your capabilities, increase confidence, and make even experienced martial artists more well-rounded. This class is for both beginners and those looking to become a Mixed Martial Arts fighter.

Women's Only Jiu Jitsu

Our Women's Only Jiu Jitsu class meets every monday at 6:30 PM and is designed to provide focused training in a supportive environment.
